In this episode of the Straight-Line Podcast, Johan and Mandy van der Put discuss Chapter 30 of the book *Inner Stance*: “Knowledge and power are two different worlds.”
Knowledge alone won’t give you power. You don’t become powerful by memorizing information. Thinking that you’ll become powerful just by working on yourself is nonsense. Talking about brilliant concepts and ideas that don’t make a difference in the real world won’t make a difference either. You can’t simply talk your way into a powerful life; you have to actively shape that life.
Attempts to replace substance, raw commitment, and unreasonable behavior with information and a friendly, manipulative personality only lead to collapse and defeat. Knowledge, however wonderful it may be, must leave your head and be applied in the world in an appropriate way before it does any good. Power is something you create, not something you understand.
